wickett's world - Bob Marley was right...

Yes Brewers fans, just like Bob Marley said, "Everything’s gonna be alright..." Are the Brewers 4-6? Yep. But as we always say in April, IT'S EARLY. We're exactly 10 games in...out of 162. have you done the math yet? I have. That's 6% of the season. 6%. 6% of the Daytona 500 is 30 laps. 6% of the NFL regular season, isn't even 1 full game. 6% of a full NBA season, isn't even 5 games in. Let's all relax and realize a few things:

1) The pitching will come around. They're just too good not to. ZG will be great at home again. Marcum (who has been very good so far) will be great on the road and Yo will be great, period. (I will say, Randy Wolf's start does raise my eyebrow a little)

2) Ryan Braun's off to a monster start with ZERO help from Aramis Ramirez. I'm fairly sure Aramis won't hit .114 for the entire season. Could get really scary once AR starts hitting with regularity.

3) The law of averages will take shape...maybe not till May, but they will. The players that are performing over their heads will come back down to earth. The players that are struggling will raise their level of play.

I know this is a boring way to look at the beginning of the season. Believe me, "level headedness" and "patience" isn't exactly great for sports-talk radio. But I don't want to lie to you. If by June this team is 10-25 with lots of underachievers, then we'll talk. Till then, enjoy it. It's great to have baseball back, isn't it?

Cheers to patience

Welp
The Brewers are still going to win the division, but by maybe two or three games this year. Ramirez is and always has been a slow starter, I just hope fans don't turn on him. He surely is not Casey McGeehee. My biggest concern is at the future at SS. Doesn't look like the Brewers have ANYBODY in the minors that can fill the shoes after Gonzalez is gone, plain and simple. With that being one of the most important defensive positions on the entire field, this is a red flag. My second red flag is Greinke. He came here because he wanted to win. Seems like he will be leaving not because we won't win, but because of the dollars elsewhere (NY Yankees, Red Sox, White Sox)! Prince Fielder v.2

brewers in 12
I don't see Greinke running for the dollars in NY or anything like that. I think if the Brewers make him a fair offer, he'll sign & stay here. Now if I'm wrong & he does jump ship for a mega-deal in a big market.... then he becomes a bit of a hypocrite.
