Once again it's time for the SportsdRadio 1250 Charity Golf Outing. Each year we gather celebs and are lucky enough to have a great group of listeners & sponsors to help raise money for the Max McGee National Research Center for Juvenile Diabetes. And of course, everyone asks, "Who's going to win"? Well, my "Dobber from Coach Look alike" co-host Chuck Freimund and I are locked in a bet with the losing "celebrity" forced to drink a beer out of Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy's cup that he autographed for me last week. (Lucroy also donated autographed items for our silent auction to raise money) As for the favorites to win the event? Here's the top 3, in my opinion.
Former Brewers Closer Ken "the bulldog" Sanders: Ken plays golf nearly every day of his life, and travels around the country to do so. Usually in MLB alumni events. He's a big hitter who's got the smarts of a savy golf veteran to hold his own.
Packers Insider Rob Demovsky: We may have purposely scheduled the golf outing on a Packers off day, so Rob could play. Rob wants the title. Rob's a VERY low handicapp. I'm betting it's around 4. Fun Fact: After the SuperBowl, Rob takes vacation out west to play golf, FOR A MONTH. Couple this with the fact that his father is playing, and we may see a changing of the guard from....
Larry Harris: The former GM of the Milwaukee Bucks has won this thing before. I think he's the 3 time defending champ. Maybe more. A hell of a player.
Prediction: the championship trophy heads to Green Bay with Rob Demovsky.
Whoever wins the event, I just want to thank everybody for participating and to all the golfers and celebs who took time out of their day to help us out. Cheers to a great day!
